ACCIONA has maintained a strong presence in Poland for a decade in the construction and real estate sectors through Mostostal Warszawa and ACCIONA Nieruchomosc.
Poland is one of the key markets in ACCIONA’s strategy of globalization, a strategy whose aim is to have 70% of its business revenue come from international markets, against the current 20%.
Mostostal Warszawa together with ACCIONA has become one of the main construction groups in Poland with plans to build more than 1,000km of highways in the country over the next 10 years, as well as enter the construction of railways, airport infrastructure and residential real estate. In addition, the company will take part in the privatization of different state-owned services, mainly the ones managed by municipal bodies, like water and waste management.
The company has recently been awarded with important contracts, such as the 19-km ring road of Wroclaw, which will be built by Mostostal Warszawa (in partnership), and will include 14 viaducts and four bridges. For this road, the company has been awarded together with ACCIONA Infrastructures, with the construction of the new bridge over the Odra River, the Wroclaw Bridge which will be part of the 10 largest concrete cable-stayed bridges in the world.
Some of the company’s recently-finished projects include the construction of three new stations and two adjoining train tracks of Warsaw’s subway; the remodelling of the 16 km route 7 between Bialobrzegui city and the intersection with the new ring road of Jedlinsk city; a building of class A offices, 24 floors high; and the “BGZ Arena”, the first indoor cycle track in Poland, a venue that will also be used for other sports tournaments such as martial arts and fencing, as well as cultural events and fairs.
Throughout its experience, ACCIONA, together with Mostosal, has developed numerous major projects, such as Wroclaw’s Medical School; the Siekierkowski bridge over the river Vistula in Warsaw, awarded by the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure in the category of Architecture and Construction; Wolin's ring road; Gdansk-Kiezmark’s limits section of national road number 7 (Gdansk-Varsovia-Chyzne) and Kiezmark’s bridge; San Roque’s bridge over the river Warta in Poznan; the facade of the Metropolitan offices building in the centre of Warsaw (designed by Norman Foster); the facade of the new head offices of Polish Television; and the rebuilding of the Trespol railway border crossing point.
